Alma college does pride itself in working on a current intense project to clean and preserve the Pine River with the help of students and community members. Formal meetings and commitments from the community have been made to accomplish this goal. A student who graduated from Alma College managed to induce the College into establishing the first environmentally friendly building in campus. Other than that, quantitative data are very limited.
