The company aims to train all employees in environmental and social responsibility and business ethics. By 2009, 84% of employees had received this training. Sandvik is a member of the FTSE4Good Index, DJSI World, and DJSI STOXX. Where the company operates in Africa, it is implementing HIV/AIDS education and alleviation programs. However, the topic of recycling was mostly ignored. In addition, nearly all qualitative and quantitative measures could be greatly improved by increasing the depth of provided information.
