In its 2005 Sustainability Report, the company boasts a set of Healthy Planet 2010 goals, which include 10 percent reductions in water use and waste production over 2005 levels, as well as corporate commitments to improving the environmental profile of products, promoting biodiversity conservation, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The company's website also features a section on "Social Responsibilty" that supplements the Sustainability Report and provides detailed policies on social, health, safety and environmental matters. The diversified health care giant operates in three segments through more than 250 operating companies. Its pharmaceuticals unit makes drugs -- including best-selling schizophrenia medication Risperdal -- for an array of ailments, such as neurological conditions, blood disorders, autoimmune diseases, and chronic pain. J&J's medical devices and diagnostics division offers surgical equipment, monitoring devices, orthopedic products, and disposable contact lenses, among other things.
